Bannister Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charles Bannister was arrested Monday night by a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputy on the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He reportedly failed a field sobriety test administered by the deputy on scene.

Gwinnett County BoC Adopts 2010 Millage Rate

Last Tuesday the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted to keep the 2010 millage rate at 13.25 which is the same as that adopted in December 2009.



Lilburn and Snellville Millage Rates

Monday, the Lilburn and Snellville city councils each held meetings to vote on proposed millage rate increases. Liburn opted to hold steady at 4.26 whereas Snellville voted to approve a 42% increase to its millage rate. The new millage rate in Snellville will increase from 4.15 to 5.9.
