Gwinnett County BoC Zoning Actions

The following actions were taken by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners at their meeting on Tues., October 28, 2008. This is a partial listing edited for our community.

SUP-08-043 and SUP-08-049 - Denied without prejudice: Two requested special-use permits to allow a 120,075-square-foot, four-story, self-storage facility on a 1.08-acre parcel zoned general business district. The property is located at the 5300 block of Stone Mountain Highway and the 1900 block of Rockbridge Road in the U.S. Highway 78 Overlay District. The department has recommended approval with conditions. The applicant is Rockbridge Self Storage LLC., Lawrenceville and the owner is Noorallah Alimohammed, Stone Mountain. The planning commission action was to deny.

SUP-08-076 - Tabled until Nov. 18: A requested special-use permit in a general-business district to allow for a used automobile sales lot and accessory service center on 4.11 acres. The property is located at the 4300 block of Stone Mountain Highway. The department has recommended approval with conditions. The applicant is Navid Yazdanpanah, Buford and the owner is Karen Maclaurin, Buford. The planning commission tabled this case until its Nov. 5 meeting.

SUP-08-081 - Denied without prejudice: A requested special-use permit in a single-family residence district to allow for a 31,374-square-foot day care facility as an accessory use to an existing church on 11.38 acres. The property is located at the 600 block of Rockbridge Road just outside the city of Lilburn. The department has recommended approval with conditions. The applicant is New Mercies Christian Church, Lilburn, and the owner is Jesse Curney III, Lilburn. The planning commission action was to deny without prejudice.
